Units Of The Week Issue #23

This week we have discovered what is probably the most unique development in Singapore – which you just have to see to believe.
We do have two other units that may be priced out of reach for most people, but still, it’s always nice to sit back and admire a well-designed space – no matter the age.

1D’Leedon

$5,500,000
Project: | D’Leedon |
---|---|
District: | 10 |
Address: | 1 Leedon Heights |
Tenure: | 99 years |
Size: | 1,324 sqft |
$PSF: | $1,122.45 |
Developer: | Capitaland |
TOP: | 2014 |
Why I like it
This isn’t our first time feature a D’Leedon property on our UOTW series, and it certainly won’t be the last – not especially when D’Leedon has 1,715 units to choose from!
If you remember the last one, it was a towering 5,038 square feet penthouse perched at the highest point of D’Leedon. This one, however, could not be any more different – as it is a ground floor garden unit.
What are its main selling points? High ceilings, private garden, spacious living and bedrooms, along with 2 private carpark slots with electric charging to boot!
As most of you should know by now, if you enjoy peace and quiet D’Leedon is definitely not the place for you (unless you have no use for the common facilities).

2Palisades

$3,150,000
Project: | Palisades |
---|---|
District: | 05 |
Address: | 294 Pasir Panjang Road |
Tenure: | Freehold |
Size: | 3,294 sqft |
$PSF: | $956.28 |
Developer: | Palisades Development Pte Ltd |
TOP: | 1985 |
Why I like it
Could this be the most unique condo in Singapore? To some, it may not be much of a looker from the outside, but I think it is safe to say that it is certainly a very interesting development indeed.
Here’s the real icing on the cake though – a lift that moves up an incline slope – is that a cool way to get home or what? If you’ve sat a roller coaster that is inching up before making its descent, you’ll have some idea of what I’m trying to describe here. For those wondering why such a unique lift was constructed, that’s because the Palisades is built atop a hill.
As far as the unit goes, there are only 18 units, with this one coming in at a spacious 3,294 square feet. Those who entertain a lot will like its outdoor dining space that offers a view towards the sea.

3Balmoral Towers

$9,500,000
Project: | Balmoral Towers |
---|---|
District: | 10 |
Address: | Balmoral |
Tenure: | Freehold |
Size: | 5,005 sqft |
$PSF: | $1,898.10 |
Developer: | – |
TOP: | – |
Why I like it
To be frank, I’m not the biggest fan of Balmoral Road given its single lane-d status. But for those looking for an “affordable” penthouse to fit a big family, this could very well be an option with its 6 bedrooms plus proximity to good schools within the area.
Set over two stories, the renovation is still relatively modern, so unless you are extremely picky or like a different style, I think most people should be quite happy with it. At 5,005 square feet, it definitely is big enough to keep a large family happy with enough privacy for all.

4The View @ Meyer

$1,800,000
Project: | The View @ Meyer |
---|---|
District: | 15 |
Address: | Jalan Kembangan |
Tenure: | Freehold |
Size: | 1,066 sqft |
$PSF: | $1,688.56 |
Developer: | GuocoLand Limited |
TOP: | 2010 |
Why I like it
The View @ Meyer is just one of the few developments in the area that will stand to gain from the upcoming Katong Park MRT station, located right outside the development.
For those that prefer a certain degree of privacy, the View @ Meyer would be something of interest given that it has only 45 units. On paper, this 2 bedroom unit comes in at a sizeable 1,066 square feet, although do take note that it is a bay window project – so there will be some unusable space.
It does have a nice view of Katong Park, but not high enough for the real sea view.

5Nassim Mansion

$9,300,000
Project: | Nassim Mansion |
---|---|
District: | 10 |
Address: | 32 Nassim Hill |
Tenure: | Freehold |
Size: | 3,477 sqft |
$PSF: | $2,674.72 |
Developer: | Nassim Mansion Pte Ltd |
TOP: | 1977 |
Why I like it
If you know of Nassim Mansion, you should be of a certain vintage – it is one of those places that is so private, it has escaped the view (and attention) of many. So if you want the upmost privacy but don’t want to stay in a landed home, Nassim Mansion is definitely one to look at.
Honestly, if I had the budget, this would be high up my list. I love the exclusiveness, the large expansive grounds, and the spacious units. It’s not cheap by any means, but this unit is a sprawling 3,477 square feet for a 4 bedroom, plus it is still done up really nicely.
For the older crowd, I can’t think of much better.
