While it seems that Singapore is slowly opening up, and Vaccinated Travel Lanes (VTL) are popping up ever so often – the construction delays plaguing the country do not seem to be improving. Perhaps things may get better from December onwards, as the VTL with Malaysia has been announced.
In the meantime, however, we will definitely still be seeing demand for units that require no further construction (or at the very least, minimal touch-ups). So here are our well-designed ready-to-move-in picks this week!

110A Bendemeer Road
$950,000
Address: | 10A Bendemeer Road |
---|---|
Tenure: | 99-year Leasehold |
Size: | 1000 sqft |
$PSF: | $950.00 PSF |
Developer: | Housing & Development Board (HDB) |
TOP: | 2016 |
Why I like it
Some people find this area a little too busy for their liking, but if you want somewhere convenient, the Bendemeer area is one that tends to be overlooked. Bendemeer Light (the name of the HDB estate) has got a great location. It’s a close walk to Bendemeer MRT station on the Downtown line, and somewhat walkable to Boon Keng MRT station on the North East line. You also have a whole host of food and mall options nearby, so amenities wise it is pretty great.
This unit is a 4A corner unit at a decent 1,000 square feet in size. It’s on a high floor too, so the facing you are on gets you unblocked views given most of the immediate surrounding area are lowrise shophouses.
I think most people would like the design of the place. It is after all only 5 years old at this point, so everything still looks rather fresh. The modern design and wooden accents look homely and as with the theme of this week – ready to move in.

272 Marine Drive
$950,000
Address: | 72 Marine Drive |
---|---|
Tenure: | 99-year Leasehold |
Size: | 1292 sqft |
$PSF: | $735.29 PSF |
Developer: | Housing & Development Board (HDB) |
TOP: | 1975 |
Why I like it
Many people love living in the East, and for good reason. Other than the proximity to good food, the close walking distance to East Coast Park is a joy for many families on the weekends. Especially during this pandemic season where travelling has been cut out of our lives, having a picnic by the beach or just cycling with sea views on the weekend is a much welcome respite from the WFH life.
This unit is getting on in years (completed in 1975), but the upside here is the bigger space at 1,292 square feet for a 5-room unit. It was renovated in 2016 (still pretty new), and that modern industrial look would be one that many of the younger buyers would appreciate. With the exposed brick feature wall, black accents, and open style kitchen layout, it’s very much inline with what a modern buyer would be looking for today.
The best part of the place is probably the future upside, with the unit being very closeby to the upcoming Marine Parade MRT station on the Thomson East Coast line.

3Northvale
$2,188,000
Address: | Northvale |
---|---|
Tenure: | 99-year Leasehold |
Size: | 2723 sqft |
$PSF: | $803.53 PSF |
Developer: | Capitaland Limited |
TOP: | 1998 |
Why I like it
Northvale is probably one of, if not the best location that you can get if you are bent on living in Choa Chu Kang. It’s a stones throw away from the Choa Chu Kang MRT station, which currently sits on the North South line as well as the future Jurong Region line. There’s also a bus interchange as well as Lot One, the neighbourhood mall. It obviously isn’t as refined as the ones at JEM/Westgate but it still houses a good enough offering for food and a bit of retail.
You are also just opposite Choa Chu Kang Park for that bit of greenery should you have a dog, or just enjoy walking/running in the early mornings or evenings.
Locational attributes aside, this is a massive penthouse unit at 2,723 square feet. Like most penthouses, it isn’t all set over one floor and there is a significantly sized roof terrace. But with the space available anyway, I don’t think many people would have a problem with that – open entertainment space is one of the reasons why you’d be attracted to splurge on a penthouse anyway. The unit still looks relatively modern and well-designed as well, so unless you are looking for a very unique look to your penthouse, this should be move-in ready!

4The Vales
$1,238,888
Address: | The Vales |
---|---|
Tenure: | 99-year Leasehold |
Size: | 1044 sqft |
$PSF: | $1,186.67 PSF |
Developer: | Anchorvale Residences Pte. Ltd |
TOP: | 2017 |
Why I like it
The Vales is an Executive Condominium that is right next to the upcoming Ola EC. It’s also opposite Sengkang General Hospital, which can be a boon or a bane, depending on which side of the fence you are on. Some people like the security of being near a hospital, while others may not like the busyness of it – so that’s a point of contention. Other than that, you do have an LRT station right outside, but you are a distance away from the MRT station – a common issue that most EC’s will face.
Nevertheless, this is a 3 bedroom unit sized at 1,044 square feet so it is considered quite compact. There’s no arguing about the interior design though. It has a super sleek and minimlist design that is very in keeping with modern design today.

510A Boon Tiong Road
$1,000,000
Address: | 10A Boon Tiong Road |
---|---|
Tenure: | 99-year Leasehold |
Size: | 990 sqft |
$PSF: | $1,010.10 PSF |
Developer: | Housing & Development Board (HDB) |
TOP: | 2014 |
Why I like it
Location wise, I would say that this HDB nearly has it all. It’s right next to Tiong Bahru Plaza, where there’s a Fairprice Finest, movie theatre, and a whole array of restaurants for your dining pleasure. You have a food court opposite too, and you are also within close walking distance to the hipster part of Tiong Bahru, where there’s a number of coffee joints, eateries, and the hawker centre to choose from. And let’s not forget the Tiong Bahru MRT station on the East West line for easy access to the rest of Singapore.
Parks wise you are quite spoilt for choice too. You could walk to Kim Poh Park (although it is tiny). A better bet would be Tiong Bahru Park, or Henderson Park – which is a short walk away.
This is a 4-room flat sized at 990 square feet so it’s not the biggest. The unit features a modern and bright design. It’s nothing fanciful or over the top, and will be pleasing to the eye of most people.
