Why I like it
At 1,323 square feet, this 5-room HDB at Pasir Ris has a spacious and efficient layout – the original layout has 3 bedrooms and a study which is big enough to be used as a 4th bedroom. The owner has actually altered the floorplan quite significantly – they’ve combined the master and bedroom 3 as well as bedroom 2 and the study to create 2 huge bedrooms. He has also hacked the store and built cabinets in its place instead. There is also an open concept kitchen with an island that can double as a dining area when hosting guests.
The home sports an industrial theme with concrete look alike tiles. The black exposed ductwork in the living room creates a nice contrast with the dark wood furnitures too. Even the bedrooms carry on that industrial theme, but with the addition of the wooden flooring and carpentry gives it a more warm and cosy vibe.
Location wise, you are about an 11-minute walk to Pasir Ris MRT station and White Sands mall. There is also the Pasir Ris CRL line to look forward to in the near future.

Why I like it
I have to say this is one of the most unique themes I’ve come across in an HDB. This 4-room 1,001 square feet HDB is dressed in a distinctive tropical resort theme, there’s consistent wood and bamboo elements throughout the house as well as a tiki roof over the dining area. The kitchen also incorporates a half glass wall which allows more light to flow through the dining area.
It’s located at Ghim Moh Edge, and you do have a nice unblocked view that overlooks the landed clusters. It’s a pretty new block that has just reached MOP, so you are getting essentially one of the newest flats you can buy when it comes to resale HDB flats.
Being at Ghim Moh Edge, it’s a really short walk to Ghim Moh Food Centre & Market, which is one of the more popular hawker centres in the area. You can also easily walk to Star Vista, which does have a good number of food options too. That said, you actually don’t have to go too far for food and amenities as below the block there is quite a few eateries, and an NTUC and Sheng Siong. Buona Vista MRT station which connects the Circle and EW line is also not too far away.

Why I like it
This Executive Maisonette at Lengkok Bahru is a rare find. With 1,517 square feet of space set over 2 levels, it offers a unique layout with 2 entrances – one through the main door and one through the verandah. It’s located in a short block with 4 levels, and this unit is located on the ground floor. Given the layout, there is a possibility of converting the dining area into an additional room if needed.
The unit itself is done up in a contemporary scandinavian design incorporating light and wooden tones together with marble and glass elements. The white based colour of it really accentuates the size of the space, which is helped with the glass railings on the stairs instead of the usual wooden or metal railings. It gives it a modern and sleeker look, and you really don’t have to sink any more money into the renovation.
The location isn’t one for those that require being close to an MRT station, as it is about a 10-minute walk away from Redhill MRT. Although, taking the bus is very straightforward. You are also relatively close to ABC Brickworks for food and groceries (there’s an NTUC there too).

Why I like it
This 4-room HDB at Toa Payoh Crest is sized at quite a standard 1,001 square feet in size. You are about equidistant between Braddell MRT on the North South line, and Caldecott MRT station on the TEL and Circle line. Just across the road is Toa Payoh West Market & Food Centre which has a whole host of popular food options like Come Daily Fried Hokkien Mee.
It’s worth noting that while the plot of land next to it is empty, it is earmarked as a residential plot in the URA Masterplan.
In terms of the layout, the wall of bedroom 3 has been replaced with a glass wall which besides allowing more light in, also makes the space appear larger. The master bedroom and bedroom 2 has also been combined to form a larger bedroom with a walk-in closet and additional study area. It’s overall a clean minimalistic design with lots of lines and utilsing three main colours – white, grey and black. These are neutral tones which should appeal to most people!

Why I like it

This unit is 1,596 square feet in size, and located on a high floor with unblocked greenery view. It has a Scandinavian theme that utilises light and wood tones with touches of industrial elements plus exposed ductworks and metal railing on the stairs. The kitchen has more of a sleek modern design as compared to the rest of the house, it’s an open concept with an island that can also be used as a dining/preparation area. The balcony area has been closed up to form part of the living room so you have more internal space as well.
