Shrewsbury Road 是位于 Novena 心脏地带的一处袖珍有地住宅飞地——其实就只有 1 条短短的街道。介于 CTE 与 Tan Tock Seng Hospital 之间,这么小的范围却容纳了不少设施与住家。沿着这条小街,你会看到多种有地房屋(排屋、半独立式与独立式单位)、数个公寓、社区中心、Sathya Sai Baba centre、教堂、佛教会,甚至还有一座 HDB 组屋楼!

园区内的公寓用地容积率为 1.4,因此目前并不会对有地房屋形成过度的压迫感。

不过,住宅旁边有一大片用地的容积率为 2.8。该地目前空置,但若开发,可能会改变区域的氛围。如上图所示,Saint Joseph’s Institution Junior (Primary Shcool) 也离这些房子非常近(完全处于备受追捧的 1km 范围内)。

这个小区的位置相当不错——即便从最里面的 Moulmein View 出发,步行至 Novena MRT 也只需约 15 分钟。沿着 Moulmein Road 有 21、124、518 与 518A 路巴士停靠,或者你也可以通过横跨 CTE 的行人通道,步行 6 分钟至 Owen Road,搭乘 131、131A 与 141 路巴士。(那里也是最近的小贩中心——Pek Kio Market。)

沿街望去可以看到双黄线(部分路段褪色严重、几乎看不见——我差点就误停在上面,幸好在被开罚单前发现了!),这也是街道看起来清爽宽敞的原因。

对于访客和没有自有车位的住户(主要位于小区入口处——稍后会展示),这里既有少量路边泊位,也有一处位于街尾的 URA 停车场(我想是为 HDB 楼 Moulmein View 服务的)。我当时在工作日造访,找车位毫无压力——共有 21 个空位。但等大家下班回家后,情况可能就不同了!

如你所见,CTE 车流非常繁忙。一开始我以为小区内的噪音会很糟,但实际感受还可以。靠近 CTE 时当然能听见车声,不过当我走到 Shrewsbury Road 更里侧(靠近从 Moulmein Road 转入的位置)时,基本就没怎么注意到了。

前方就是 Moulmein View——在此之前,我并不知道 Novena 还有 HDB 小区!(在 Google 地图上并不明显。)

这是一座独立楼栋,因此没有典型 HDB 小区常见的配套(如巴刹、小贩中心等)。不过,如前所述,你距离 Pek Kio Market and Food centre 仅约 7 分钟步行路程,那是一个更大的 HDB 小区。

Shrewsbury Road 沿线没有游乐场。不过,Moulmein View 里有一个小型游乐场,有地住户也可使用。
