This week, we continue to focus on large units – but this time around, we’re throwing in those with lifestyle elements to it!
This includes a variety of penthouses – one with a private jacuzzi, another that’s just 1 level and quite efficient, and another with sweeping views of the city and an exclusive pool. We’ve also included a townhouse here for those who want to have the best of condo facilities, large amounts of space and the landed feel!

1Goldenhill Park Condo

$4,650,000
| Project | Goldenhill Park Condo |
|---|---|
| Address: | 68 Mei Hwan Drive |
| Tenure: | Freehold |
| Size: | 2,629 sqft |
| $PSF: | $1,768.73 |
| Developer: | City Development Limited |
| TOP | 2004 |
Why I like it
Goldenhill Park Condo is within walking distance to Lorong Chuan MRT (CC Line), and is about 16 years old (if you can’t already tell from the name!).
It’s rare to find a large unit that has a decent layout, views and a lot of space that is used efficiently which is what this unit in Goldenhill Park Condo is. There’s no wasted entryway space, yet full amount of privacy given it opens up to the wall rather than the living area. The single storey penthouse has decent layout too – with one side featuring 1 bedroom and living/dining/kitchen, while most of the living quarters is on the right.
The layout is quite suitable for multi-generational families, with one bedroom on one side and the rest on the opposite end. The kitchen is also a U-shaped one with an island counter in the center – possibly one of the best kitchen layouts that affords lots of countertop space, ample cabinetry space and areas to put built-in appliances.

2The Viridian

$4,280,000
| Project | The Viridian |
|---|---|
| Address: | 6 Jalan Ampas 329507 |
| Tenure: | Freehold |
| Size: | 3,326 sqft |
| $PSF: | $1,286.83 |
| Developer: | Orion-One Residential Pte Ltd |
| TOP | 2014 |
Why I like it
This is a dual level penthouse unit at The Viridian, and I’ll have to admit that this unit is certainly not for everyone. But then again, it’s a penthouse – which hints of lifestyle elements.
At 3,326 sqft, this penthouse takes the lifestyle portion to an extreme with a very large terrace area and your own exclusive pool. It features 3 bedrooms, 1 on the lower level and 2 on the 2nd storey, so it’s suitable for average families with an extraordinary penchant for entertainment or just simply enjoying the outdoors.
The unit features sweeping views of the city with full height windows to bring the full glory of the views in, and to top it off, only very light renovation is probably needed given how tastefully designed it already is!
Admittedly though, the space is not efficient given these areas aren’t considered “liveable space”, and the numerous planters around does not make it better.
Still, it’s a rare find that may just tickle your curiosity if you’re looking for an exclusive unit big on lifestyle and can fit an average family.

3Holland Mews

$4,080,000
| Project | Holland Mews |
|---|---|
| Address: | 67 Holland Road 258867 |
| Tenure: | Freehold |
| Size: | 2,520 sqft |
| $PSF: | $1,619.04 |
| Developer: | Goldplus Investments Pte Ltd |
| TOP | 2004 |
Why I like it
I’m not a huge fan of townhouses considering how niche this type of product is, but I must say that from my tour at Alana, there’s no denying that it strikes a great balance between those who want condo facilities as well as a landed feel (and not having to deal with too much maintenance issues!).
This townhouse at Holland Mews is located in the prestigious district 10 and is about a 12 minute walk from the Holland Village MRT station. The 2,520 sqft unit features plenty of outdoor space to do your gardening, and 3 bedrooms, good for an average-sized family looking for lots of space.
To top it off, the rooftop also features and outdoor area where you can enjoy views of the GCB enclave in the Holland area!

4Leonie Hill Residences

$5,200,000
| Project | Leonie Hill Residences |
|---|---|
| Address: | 1 Leonie Hill Road 239191 |
| Tenure: | Freehold |
| Size: | 2,787 sqft |
| $PSF: | $1,865.81 |
| Developer: | Sino Holdings (Singapore) Pte Ltd |
| TOP | 2005 |
Why I like it
If you’re looking for a high-ceiling duplex with sweeping city views, then this unit in district 9 (Orchard) can be considered.
With 3 bedrooms, this penthouse unit is great for average-sized families. Its layout is such that the first level is great for entertainment given the high ceiling and large living cum dining area. While it does have a balcony on the 1st level, its width is just enough for a small table and chair to enjoy the views. The rooftop terrace is where the real outdoor element is as it’s sufficiently spacious for an alfresco-style gathering/barbecue.
There is also a private roof terrace that’s directly connected to the master bedroom, and a very private jacuzzi in the corner for one to enjoy the outdoors while soaking in – though I must admit that the area might be in need of some touching up!
Aside from that area, most of the unit does not look like it has much carpentry done up, meaning that any renovation ideas you have in mind would require lesser hacking and disposal works which means lesser costs.

5Hillcrest Arcadia

$2,950,000
| Project: | Hillcrest Arcadia |
|---|---|
| Address: | 251 Arcadia Road 289847 |
| Tenure: | 99-year Leasehold |
| Size: | 2,896 sqft |
| $PSF: | $1,018.65 |
| Developer: | San Ken Hillcrest Pte Ltd |
| TOP | 1980 |
Why I like it
This development reminds me of one that was shortlisted by TJ, a first-time homebuyer who shared her journey buying her first home.
This development is really old (> 30 years!), leaving many to speculate on the possibility of it going en bloc soon considering its prime location in district 11.
For those complaining about small bedroom sizes today, this unit right here is the complete opposite! It has one of the biggest master bedrooms I’ve seen, as well as an expansive living/dining area and also one level completely dedicated to entertainment alone. The development is also within 1km of Raffles Girls Primary School located along Hillcrest Road.
While big and old units are expensive to renovate, I’m pleased to see that the place has been quite well-maintained, so unless you intend to change out all the floorings and walls, I would expect minimal renovations here which should keep costs low.
