This week in our Units Of The Week issue, we take a closer look at the District 15 area. It’s currently awash with new launches such as Nyon, Amber Park, Coastline Residences, MeyerHouse, and Meyer Mansion (just to name a few).
Being known for its unparalleled seaviews, we just had to shine a light on its older developments as well. (Interestingly enough, none feature a sea view). Here’s a few that caught our eye this week!

Here we go, these are the Units Of The Week for the week of 15 September 2020.

1Costa Rhu

$1,500,000
Project: | Costa Rhu |
---|---|
District: | 15 |
Address: | 3 Rhu Cross |
Tenure: | 99 years |
Size: | 1,442 sqft |
$PSF: | $1,040.22 |
Developer: | Amcol Gardens Pte Ltd |
TOP: | 1998 |
Why I like it
If you have driven on the ECP towards the airport past the city, you might have seen this condo many a time without ever knowing its name. Well, if you’ve always been wondering, it’s actually called the Costa Rhu!
Admittedly, this ground floor unit might be a bit of an oddball to pick in this area, especially given the amazing views that the high floors here can showcase – which goes some way into explaining the lower psf that the unit is currently asking for.
At 1,442 square feet, it is absolutely massive for a 2 bedroom unit, although a good chunk of that does go to the outdoor patio space. That said, it is mostly sheltered and with the current landscaping does make for a very cosy and serene environment.

2Goodwill Court

$1,638,000
Project: | Goodwill Court |
---|---|
District: | 15 |
Address: | 79 – 87 Upper East Coast Road |
Tenure: | Freehold |
Size: | 1,496 sqft |
$PSF: | $1,094.92 |
Developer: | – |
TOP: | 1983 |
Why I like it
I’d reckon 99% of you reading this would probably have no idea a development such as this even existed.
Although this unit is on the highest floor, it really doesn’t mean much in a low-rise development where views are non-existent. Especially in that era, when a high floor just meant walking up a lot more stairs. So be warned, this space isn’t suitable for those past a certain age.
So what’s special about this unit? Well for one, it was an existing 4 bedroom apartment that has now been converted into a 2 bedroom apartment of 1,496 square feet. In other words, it is extremely spacious, with a good sized living and dining area.
I like the renovations done to the unit too, it may seem haphazard but it clearly has its own unique identity. The open plan living is a bonus too.

3Eastside Loft

$2,750,000
Project: | Eastside Loft |
---|---|
District: | 15 |
Address: | 150 Tanjong Katong Road |
Tenure: | Freehold |
Size: | 2,121 sqft |
$PSF: | $1,296.56 |
Developer: | Act-nobel Homes Pte Ltd |
TOP: | 2003 |
Why I like it
I’d be honest, the first thing that caught my attention in this listing is actually the name of the developer!
Odd name aside, this is one of those developments that I’d hesitate to recommend if capital appreciation is your main concern as it has just too few units (20) and among other factors.
That said, if liveability and size was your main concern that this could be one to take a closer look at. It was originally a 4 bedder, but now converted to a 3 bedroom, but at 2,121 one can describe it as quite a generous space.
It’s rather nicely decorated too, with its main highlight being the private roof terrace that is covered in lovely carpet grass.

4Marine Blue

$2,150,000
Project: | Marine Blue |
---|---|
District: | 15 |
Address: | 91 Marine Parade Road |
Tenure: | Freehold |
Size: | 1,141 sqft |
$PSF: | $1,884.31 |
Developer: | Ladyhill (Private) Limited |
TOP: | 2017 |
Why I like it
I’ve always had my eye on Marine Blue as a project, it is in such a convenient area that is only set to get better given that Marine Parade MRT station is situated directly outside the development.
This is a 2 bed 2 bath unit coming in at 1,141 square feet – which is pretty big for its unit type on paper. Although you do have to content with balcony spaces that span the living/dining and the master, and the common bedroom as well. Of course, if you adore outdoor living spaces, then this would be right up your alley.
Other than that, it is well furnished. But the real winner is the location in my books.

5Katong Regency

$2,900,000
Project: | Katong Regency |
---|---|
District: | 15 |
Address: | 13 Tanjong Katong Road |
Tenure: | Freehold |
Size: | 1,959 sqft |
$PSF: | $1,480.35 |
Developer: | UOL Residential Development Pte Ltd |
TOP: | 2015 |
Why I like it
If connectivity and convenience is the most important thing to you, I think you wouldn’t have much to complain about the Katong Regency. Located atop Kinex (which has Beauty in the pot, and First Price), it is also super close to Paya Lebar Square and Quarters, which offers a ton of shops and food as well.
This is a 1,959 square feet unit which may sound big for a 3 bedroom unit until you learn that it is actually a penthouse unit – so allowances have to be made for the staircase and open roof terrace as well.
What I really like though, is the current design and furnishings of the place, its in a ready to move in condition, which is great.
