Inside A Unique Indochine-Inspired Walk Up Apartment In The East
October 9, 2022
This week, we visit a charming walk up apartment located in Marine Parade. Homeowner Chris self-designed the entire home, which was formerly divided into 6 rooms for rental.
He has gone for a rather unconventional theme that you don’t see in most homes in Singapore, an Indochine one. One of the key changes was the broken down balcony area, which allows for more light to come in.
Homes like this are as much about the property underneath as the design on top. The right layout, block and tenure make renovations like these possible, or much harder to achieve later.
That's often where we help readers: evaluating the property first, before committing to a big purchase.
Over time, that's also why we decided to work with agents who shared the same data-driven and advisory-led approach behind our editorial, consultants who could help readers think through decisions more objectively, rather than simply push transactions.
Today, the team has worked with more than 2,000 clients across over $5B in property transactions.
The doors for the bedrooms are also very different, with arch doors and wood engravings for the doors. Because the unit has more space than the average home, he was able to incorporate an entertainment area in the master bedroom.
Special thanks to Chris for showing us around his distinctive home.
