A weekly recap to share some of our favourite units that we’ve seen from the past seven days.

1Alex Residences

$1,290,000
Project | Alex Residences | District | 03 |
Address | 19 Alexandra View | Tenure | 99 years |
Size | 678 sqft | $PSF | $1,902.65 |
Developer | Singland Homes (Alexandra) Pte Ltd | TOP | 2017 |
Why I like it
Honestly speaking, this 2 bedroom 678 square feet unit at Alex Residences is nothing special. Regular layout and averagely sized if you were to compare to the newer condos.
Where it’s a real stunner is the MBS-like infinity pool right at the top level (40-storeys). It’s a proper sized pool that gives you an otherworldly view over the city.

264 Tiong Poh Road

$1,980,000
Project | Tiong Bahru | District | 03 |
Address | 64 Tiong Poh Road | Tenure | 99 years |
Size | 1,400 sqft | $PSF | $1,414.29 |
Developer | HUDC | TOP | 1937 |
Why I like it
This is the first time we’ve featured an HDB apartment on our UOTW series but this was a hard one to ignore. It’s definitely not a purchase for the sensible – with only 46 years lease remaining and at its asking price.
But, it is a conserved building (since 2003), and it does offer a ton of living space that is getting increasingly rare to come by. The truly outstanding feature is the private indoor atrium with a retractable glass roof. It is incredibly unique and that indoor courtyard feel is something that you can only get in a landed home.
Its tough to convey the attributes solely through the photos but this one is really special.
– Druce

3Tiong Bahru Walk-Up

$3,680,001
Project | Tiong Bahru Walk-up | District | 03 |
Address | Kim Tian Road | Tenure | Freehold |
Size | 3,218 sqft | $PSF | $1,143.57 |
Developer | – | TOP | – |
Why I like it
You might be currently baulking at that price, but there is good reason. First, at over 3,000 square feet it is a hulk of a unit – especially with only 2 bedrooms. Admittedly, most of the space is taken up by the huge roof terrace, but that really just adds to the charm.
Second, unlike many of the other properties in this hipster estate, this one is freehold.
Third, it is done up brilliantly – as long as this is a style that you are fond of.
However, if the lifestyle and locale is not up to your taste, I can see why the price is a bitter pill to swallow – no facilities to speak of and a walk-up situation to boot is a tough one.
– Reuben

4Alessandrea

$1,800,000
Project | Alessandrea | District | 03 |
Address | 31 Alexandra Road | Tenure | Freehold |
Size | 1,098 sqft | $PSF | $1,639.34 |
Developer | – | TOP | 2003 |
Why I like it
If you drive on the Alexandra Road a lot to get to work you might be familiar with this condominium – just not the name. The Alessandrea certainly has a unique sounding name, with its freehold status being a rarity in the area as well.
This unit is quite well done up, there’s no need for extensive renovations. Plus there is not balcony to speak of, so for some, it is really a maximum utilisation of indoor space.
– Stanley

5The Aston

$2,300,000
Project | The Aston | District | 10 |
Address | 2 Kay Poh Road | Tenure | Freehold |
Size | 1,765 sqft | $PSF | $1,303.12 |
Developer | Parryview Holding Pte Ltd | TOP | 2002 |
Why I like it
I know the brief was for Tiong Bahru/Alexandra properties but this was another hard one to ignore. If you are looking to live in the River Valley area this is quite a good price psf wise (but also because its a penthouse). It’s close to lots of eateries and the revamped Great World City is just diagonally across the road.
The interior isn’t exactly my taste but you can’t deny that it is done up well!
– Sean
