Inside A Bachelor’s Transformed Small Stylish Apartment
October 26, 2023
In this week’s episode, we tour a bachelor’s three-room HDB flat in Ang Mo Kio, spanning 807 sqft in size.
The home has undergone a $78,000 renovation, meticulously designed in an industrial style with raw finishes throughout.

Starting at the main entrance, you’ll notice the clever use of glass-fluted doors to invite more natural light into this corridor unit.

The living area seamlessly transitions from the entrance and features cement screed walls and ceilings combined with large format dark tiles, giving the entire space an industrial, raw aesthetic.

The living room hosts a generous three to five-seater sofa, accompanied by an armchair, and a minimalist TV console with a wall-mounted TV.

The adjoining dining and kitchen area integrates a functional dining table that seats four, doubling as additional countertop space.

The copper light top surface continues onto the kitchen countertop and backsplash. The lighting design enhances the space.

The kitchen island boasts a four-ring induction hob and a kitchen sink, while the prairie kitchen counter is kept minimal, utilizing undercounter drawers for storage, maintaining an open and airy feel.

The service yard, hidden within the kitchen, holds the washer and an automatic drying rack, concealing the rubbish chute behind narrow cabinetry for both hygiene and design consistency.

Moving on to the master bedroom, it features a study area and a queen-sized bed, keeping the room simple and functional.

There’s a concealed door leading to a multipurpose room used primarily as a walk-in wardrobe. Occasionally, it doubles as a workout area, with a vanity and sink relocated outside for an open bathroom feel.

The Jack and Jill bathroom displays dark finishes, and the shower area is thoughtfully separated without a divider. It also provides another entrance to the kitchen.
