This is our theme for the week: we’ve put together a list of the cheapest 5-room flats we could find, that are within walking distance of the nearest train station.

Why I like it
This unit is within walking distance to Bukit Gombak MRT station (NSL), and it’s within walking distance of the Bukit Gombak Neighbourhood Centre, which has a wet market, supermarkets, and a good mix of everyday eateries. Additional food options can also be found within the surrounding HDB clusters. For those who enjoy outdoor spaces, there’s a nearby park connector that leads to Bukit Batok Town Park and Little Guilin.
It’s a corner unit, which improves privacy. The layout is regularly shaped, making furniture placement and renovation planning straightforward. The main door opens into a balcony-like space, which provides a nice buffer before entering the living areas. The living and dining spaces are well segregated, all three bedrooms are comfortably sized, and the flat comes with a store. Why I like it
This flat is within walking distance to Yew Tee MRT station (NSL), as well as Yew Tee Point, Yew Tee Square, and Yew Tee Market. Daily necessities and food options are well covered, with additional eateries scattered throughout the surrounding HDB clusters. Nature lovers will also appreciate the nearby park connector, which links directly to the Rail Corridor.
Situated on a high floor, the unit enjoys plenty of natural light. The living and dining areas are spacious, giving the home an open feel. The home shelter is located within the kitchen, which some buyers prefer as it keeps it out of sight; a feature wall and storage cabinets have been added to conceal it neatly. The L-shaped kitchen counter maximises usable space and helps define the kitchen from the pantry or storage area. All three bedrooms are well sized, and the use of glass doors and mirrors throughout the unit enhances the sense of openness.
