Lovely writeup on Harbourlights Condo. Perhaps I can chip in here as a longer term resident. Depending on what you are after for your home, this project could be suitable or not suitable at all. For my family’s case, it is one of our greatest decisions to move here.

We moved into HBL for almost 10 years, and that was mainly to secure the primary school entry for my eldest child using a proximity advantage. It was after when we realized the perks of staying here.

The school is just 1km away, it means that my child can have more time for rest, play and study. Popular store and the library are just next door, and we are able to attend to my child’s last minute request to procure art material and do reading research for the school’s project. There is a student care at our doorstep too. We do not have helper, and this facility is a life saver for us.

Workwise, the location is also perfect for my spouse and I. My spouse takes the public transport into town, while I drive against the morning traffic. We both reach our offices within 15 minutes, if not 20 minutes.

When we needed exercise, the entire family can hike up mount faber or jog into sentosa. Btw, you can also watch fireworks from mount faber – the kids enjoyed the free shows. Recently, the park connector from Labrador park to hbf center has been completed, and it’s another nice scenic jogging route for residents here.

As I write this, we are also making plans to (temporary we think) move out of the condominium and relocate nearer to my youngest child’s school. Both kids are now out of the primary school near HBL – My eldest child got into a Bukit Timah location IP school, and the younger kid was transferred to a GEP school. As parents who value the children’s education progress, we thank the location’s attributes for these wonderful outcomes.

The condominium is indeed getting old, but I am aware that there is a small group of dedicated owner residents who are in the MC, always doing their best to implement appropriate improvement plans whenever they can. As mentioned by MV the En-Bloc did occur as well but it did not cross the 80% mark. We definitely will be planning to return to HBL if its still around, once the kids enter their tertiary education phase. 🙂
