This week, we tour a modern luxurious HDB transformation in Serangoon North. Homeowners Olivia and Jesse’s stunning 1,561 square feet Executive Apartment HDB has been transformed from an old HDB to a modern, luxurious and warm home.
Olivia and Jesse both love darker interiors, warm lighting and modern luxury. They saw the potential of the squarish layout of the space and decided to knock down some walls to create an open layout. The result is a stunning home with a darker palette, wood overlays, and pops of colour from little vases around the house.
When you first visit the home, it immediately stands out because of the niche area that they created for privacy and as a reception area for guests. They chose a sofa with enough depth to be the focal point of the house, and added black mirrors around the structural beams, creating another interesting visual.
The kitchen island is where they prep food, bake and entertain guests when they come over. They knocked down the original kitchen to create an open layout, but they still wanted to cook inside, so they added an induction cooker in addition to an outdoor balcony/wet kitchen. The wet kitchen has a different theme than the rest of the house, with a stainless steel theme for easier maintenance.
Even the common bathroom has been done up nicely, with a hanging light bulb and a mirror. For the master bedroom, Olivia and Jesse took inspiration from boutique hotels and split the bedroom, sink, and bathroom. Their walk-in wardrobe also functions as a study area, making it a useful space.

Hi! Seems like the unit is more of an Executive Apartment instead of a 5-Room?
Hello! Thanks for pointing this out, yes it’s an EA. Will edit it!
