Inside A Self-Designed Raw Industrial HDB Home With A Creative Flair
September 25, 2022
We love visiting the homes of previous homeowners that have opened up their homes to us, and so this week we are especially excited to be able to visit version 2.0 of Tobby and Kaiyi’s home. For those of you who are new to our channel, we first showcased their home in March 2021 (which you can view here.)
This time, their home is a smaller but cosier space in Geylang Bahru. It’s a 3-room HDB which comes up to a size of 732 square feet. One of the first things they did was to hack away the wall to allow for more light in the living and dining area. Like their first home, they wanted a more raw and industrial look, and everything was self-designed again.
One of the most interesting bits of the home is the 3.5m kitchen island/dining. The dining table is actually made of wood, but in one of their DIY projects, the table was made to look like a cement table instead of using art cement.
They also used terrazzo from their old house for the floor to serve as a reminder of their home. Likewise, they even were able to incorporate a small counter table by the window, which was another idea from their old place.
Special thanks to Tobby and Kaiyi for once again showing us around their new home.
