The last time we covered big HDB apartments in Units Of The Week, it was phenomenally well received. Perhaps no one should really be surprised at this point, with BTO construction delays and the need for more space at home – big resale HDB’s have been in demand.
As usual, we’ve looked for those that are well-renovated too, so you hopefully won’t have to deal with any construction issues and delays on your end.

1302 Hougang Avenue 5

$699,999
| Address: | 302 Hougang Avenue 5 |
|---|---|
| Tenure: | 99-year Leasehold |
| Size: | 1410 sqft |
| $PSF: | $496.45 PSF |
| Developer: | Housing & Development Board (HDB) |
| TOP: | 1983 |
Why I like it
Sure, this may be an old HDB (it’s currently 38 years old). But for those who want bigger living spaces, this is just something you’d need to accept as part of the equation. While its 1,410 square feet may not be the biggest around, it’s still a sizeable enough space for the average family in Singapore.
Despite the age, the interior of the flat is probably the complete opposite. It is modern, well furnished, and as black is the major highlight, it does look reasonably classy as well (I especially like the kitchen).
The location is a real draw too. It’s about a 5-minute walk away from Hougang MRT station and the interchange, so your transport needs are sorted. Hougang mall is a short walk away too, and you can access the Serangoon Park Connector rather easily as well. So if you so wished, you can cycle to Punggol Waterway for a more scenice route too.

2613 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 4

$928,888
| Address: | 613 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 4 |
|---|---|
| Tenure: | 99-year Leasehold |
| Size: | 1603 sqft |
| $PSF: | $579.47 PSF |
| Developer: | Housing & Development Board (HDB) |
| TOP: | 1995 |
Why I like it
For those who are after the most space possible, an Executive Apartment is always one to go for. This Ang Mo Kio unit is sized at 1,603 square feet – so it is undeniably going to be a very spacious affair. With 3 common rooms and one master bedroom, it will be suitable for multi-generation living.
The living room has oodles of space so the kids can run around easily, and the kitchen is sizeable and able to incorporate a kitchen island too.
Location wise, the park is nearby and so is the market and food centre. You can walk to Yio Chu Kang MRT on the North South line or the Thomson East Coast line, but neither is really near enough that a daily walk would be a comfortable one.

3319 Serangoon Avenue 2

$1,088,000
| Address: | 319 Serangoon Avenue 2 |
|---|---|
| Tenure: | 99-year Leasehold |
| Size: | 1570 sqft |
| $PSF: | $692.99 PSF |
| Developer: | Housing & Development Board (HDB)) |
| TOP: | 1985 |
Why I like it
This is an Executive Masionette that is sized at 1,570 square feet. As per usual for HDB masionettes, it is spread over two levels, with the living/dining areas on the lower floor, with the 3 bedrooms located on the top floor. And while the staircase may take up space, overall it still represents a very viable option for families looking for a bigger space.
The unit has been done up really nicely. The wooden finishes, with the plants and various lighting elements does give off a very homely feel to it. I really like how the staircase has been done too, as instead of the usual wooded banisters, the glass finish looks a lot more modern and upscale.
Do note two of the bedrooms have been combined together to form a larger one, but you can quite easily reinstate the wall back should you need proper bedrooms instead.

4744 Jurong West Street 73

$698,000
| Address: | 744 Jurong West Street 73 |
|---|---|
| Tenure: | 99-year Leasehold |
| Size: | 1442 sqft |
| $PSF: | $484.05 PSF |
| Developer: | Housing & Development Board (HDB) |
| TOP: | 1993 |
Why I like it
This is a 5-room HDB that boasts of a sizeable 1,442 square feet of space. It’s 28 years old at this point, so definitely on the older side of things.
The layout for this unit is pretty unique (depending on how you view it), as the living area has a slant to it – some people may not like it too much, as the unconventional shape does make it less practical. The unit is done up in a pretty modern style anyway, so unless you absolutely want to stamp your own design style to it, I reckon most people would like that minimal renovation would need to be done.
Location wise, it might not be the best at this point from a transport/connectivity stand point. But in the future, the upcoming Jurong Region Line will see Gek Poh MRT station just a short 5-minute walk away.

5903 Tampines Avenue 4

$750,000
| Address: | 903 Tampines Avenue 4 |
|---|---|
| Tenure: | 99-year Leasehold |
| Size: | 1431 sqft |
| $PSF: | $524.11 PSF |
| Developer: | Housing & Development Board (HDB) |
| TOP: | 1983 |
Why I like it
This is a 5-room HDB that is sized at 1,431 square feet. It’s more than decently spacious, and the unit is well-renovated to a modern scandinavian style.
But the best part of this unit is really the location. It’s right opposite the Tampines Hub, where you have a variety of sporting facilities, a hawker centre, and the regional library. Further down is the different malls at Tampines (Century Square, Tampines Mall, Tampines 1) so shopping and more eating is at a walkable distance. Plus, you have access to two MRT stations here, one on the East West line, and the other the Downtown line.
There are various parks around too, so accessibility to exercise areas and greenery is also just as convenient.
