Why I like it
Not many people are aware of this, but Lucky Plaza isn’t just a hangout place for the Filipino community – it actually has a residential component to it as well.
For those interested in a place like this, it’s really all about the location – right smack in the middle of Orchard Road, near shopping/food, and close to Orchard MRT station as well.
Because other than the perks of an Orchard address+ (and the spacious unit sizes), that’s really all there is to it – there are none of the usual facilities here, no swimming pool, gym, or tennis court.

Why I like it
One look at these apartments and you’d know it’s ancient. Like the Lucky Plaza apartments above, there are no facilities to speak of. In fact, there isn’t even an underground carpark, let alone a sheltered one!
But, the biggest ace up its sleeve is its location along Tanjong Katong Road. It is walking distance to One KM mall, 600 metres to Paya Lebar MRT, and to Paya Lebar Quarters – so you’ve covered most bases here.
It is currently sitting on a land size of 30,284 square feet and a plot ratio of 1.4 – so there is certainly potential here.

Why I like it
You know an apartment is old when there is no name, barely a mention of its TOP date or who developed it. This old walk up apartment at Kim Keat Close is a prime example.
It’s got a good central location along Balestier, but personally I’m not the biggest fan of the area – it’s a bit too crowded for my tastes. There’s no facilities here to speak of, and the main perks are just the number of good eateries close by.
The nearest MRT stations are a bit of a walk away as well as it is kinda caught in the middle of Toa Payoh MRT station and Boon Keng MRT station – so not the most ideal if you ride the MRT daily.

Why I like it
Don’t be put off by the price here, because this is an absolutely massive 4,090 square feet unit at the pinnacle of People’s Park Complex.
Granted, it’s no billionaire’s penthouse at the Wallich Residence, but if you are looking for a 5 bedroom apartment and want to stay in the upmost convenient city location – this one is hard to beat.
Like the other units so far on this list, there are no facilities and the building is definitely showing its age – so it is really up to you if the positives outweigh the negatives.

Why I like it
With a name like Buona Vista Gardens, you might be forgiven for thinking that it is located close to Buona Vista MRT. Instead, this old apartment is situated at the West Coast area – an 8 minute walk away from Haw Par Villa MRT station.
Interestingly, it is situated along one of the more unique road names I’ve ever come across in Singapore too – Zehnder Road.
If it’s any consolation for its age, this one has sheltered parking and a swimming pool to boot!
