This week, we visit a really unique space – an old walk-up apartment in Woodleigh Park. Homeowners Chun and Wen Yeu were on the lookout for something different, and when they chanced upon this older home with the air ventilation holes above the windows, they were smitten by it.
The overall look with the old doors, and big windows were all part of the charm. The 921 square foot home was completely self-designed by them, that was mainly warm woody tones, and made more cosy by the lightings that they’ve installed. It’s especially important as their home also doubles up as a private dining space (Potter’s Table), as well as a pottery studio (&natural).
They turned the whole living space into a dining one, and used old furnitures from their previous home and dining furniture that they custom made to specifically fit the space.
As such, they had to transform their balcony into their living area instead. This also encompassed their garden, which they used to grow herbs for their private dining guests.
Finally, their pottery studio is actually a bigger space than their own bedroom, as they needed the space for the small kiln in the corner of the room, as well as space for ventilation for making the pottery.
